The new car dealer is new car oriented, and this is an understandable condition. If you don’t think this is so, look at the sales statistics in the Auto Age Top 500 or any other source that monitors the performance of the top selling new car dealers. The largest dealers all sell many more new cars then used. A car dealer receives no rewards or rebates from the factory for selling used cars. The used car buyer also represents a different kind of clientele. They usually make less money; have a different level of education and credit experience from the average new car buyer.
